"Fast Freddy" is...

Alfredo Bess Jr. AKA " Fast Freddy The Clown/Magician " has a well rounded background in the entertainment industry.  "I think it all evolved from my church involvement," he remarks. "I was the chairman of our Junior Deacon Board from age 9 through 17.  Consequently, I found myself speaking in front of the congregation. So I learned at an early age to be relaxed an unintimidated."  Fast Freddy continued to pursue the art of public speaking by concentrating his high school courses in the area of speech and communication.  He continued his education by attending Salisbury State University on the Maryland Eastern Shore.  While pursuing his Bachelor's degree in Communication Arts, his concentration was Verbal and Nonverbal Communication, Interpersonal Communication, and Radio and Television Broadcasting.  He put these skills to use by working at the college radio station WSSC.  Having the highest rated show on the air, he moved on to become the Station Program Manager.  While serving as Director of the radio station, he was introduced to television by working at a local television station, WBOC.  His experience continued as he became an "On Air" personality at the number one radio station in Ocean City, MD., OC 104.  He was the only minority to have his own show.  Upon recieving his Bachelor's Degree in Communication Arts with a minor in Psychology,  he continued his broadcasting career by hosting his own radio show "Jazz Unlimited" at WDCU FM 90 in Washington, DC.  He later took his radio and television experience to cable, working with Cable TV Montgomery in Maryland.  After obtaining a wealth of knowledge in the entertainment field spanning over 12 years, he wanted to find a showcase for his talents.  He became the business manager for a major entertainment company in Washington, D.C.  There, he recieved professional training and developed into not only a master clown, but a magician as well.  He later produced and dircted a cable tv show, appeared on numerous television shows, and is a constant guest on radio.  He has entertained such notables as President George Bush Sr., Washington Redskins Darell Green, Art Monk, Monte Coleman, Levar Arrington and Andre Carter. Look for "Fast Freddy" at your local Library each summer. He is the official clown for the D.C. Public Library's Summer Reading Program.  He performs at Libraries throughout The District of Columbia.  Check with your local library for dates and times.
